The material used is Honduran mahogany, which is known as "genuine mahogany" among mahogany varieties. The finishing process involves applying a urethane coating. You can feel the original color and texture of mahogany. The urethane comes with a COYOTE storage bag, so you can use it when taking it outdoors. The product is delivered after undergoing an inspection process unique to lacquerware makers, called "hot water inspection," in which hot water is poured over the product and it is left to sit overnight to check for any leaks.
