The divine and stately teacup is reminiscent of the A-Un (Kongo Rikishi). It is filled with the wish to drive away evil spirits, provide protection, and ward off evil. It represents the beginning and end of things, thrown from "A" and received from "Un". The carved side of the cup not only fits comfortably in the hand, but also gives the cup a different look depending on the angle, like a scene from the natural world.
