Washi Art

Chigiri-washi is a uniquely Japanese art form, where pictures are made by tearing pieces of washi paper by hand.
Washi paper is a natural material made from plant fibers, and is made from plants grown in each region.
By extracting fibers from Japan's most representative plants, such as kozo, mitsumata, ganpi, and asa, it is possible to make strong and beautiful paper.
Types of washi paper suitable for collage include colored washi paper, itajime washi paper, unryu paper, tengujo paper, rakusui paper, and mochi-dyed washi paper.
